A cow is a portion and parcel of the culture of India and should be named as the national animal, the Allahabad High Court observed on Wednesday while refusing bail to one Javed who was accused of offences under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act in Uttar Pradesh in case of Javed v. State of Uttar Pradesh.
Following that cow should be named as a national animal and cow shelter should be held as a fundamental right of Hindus the Allahabad High Court refused bail to one Javed who has been accused of slaughtering a cow.
Denying him bail, the Bench of Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav wrote that the appellant had, after acting theft of the cow, had killed it, beheaded it and its meat was also administered along with it.
The Accused was charged with the offence under Section 379 of IPC (Punishment of Theft) and Sections 3, 5, 8 of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
The judge declared in the order that experts concluded that the cow is the only animal that inhaled and exhaled oxygen.
“Jab gaay ka kalyaan hoga, tabhi Desh ka kalyaan hoga (only if cow is revered, the country will prosper),” the order pronounced.
