The counting of votes in the upcoming elections in UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, Punjab, and Uttarakhand will be carried out tomorrow.
• All necessary practices have been completed to count the votes in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.

• In addition, the accompanying counting of the votes of the Majuli General Assembly in Assam will also be brought together. The counting process will begin at 8.00 AM.

• The calculation methods and results of the five legislative meetings will be available on the Electoral Commission website and will be updated every few minutes.

• During the ongoing COVID epidemic and to secure the safe provision of COVID during the count, the Indian Electoral Commission has introduced strict COVID Day Counting rules.

The Indian Parliament will continue the second part of the budget session on March 14
• The Parliament of India will produce to its normal working schedule for the second part of the budget session starting March 14. It will end on April 8, 2022.

• Both Houses of Parliament- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be occupied from 11 AM instead of working shifts. The decision was made following a drop in Coronavirus cases in India. However, both Houses will resume using their rooms and galleries.

• Looking at the third wave of the epidemic, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were working alternately in the first phase of the budget session.

Union Cabinet approves an MoU signed between ICMR and Oxford University
• The Union Cabinet has granted its
approval to an MoU signed between the University of Oxford and the Indian Medical Research Council.

• The MoU aims to improve the capacity of Indian scientists and researchers, the collection of information relevant to international standards and regulatory requirements.

• Both groups also consented on the exchange and sharing of ideas about the three major diseases in the eradication phase and the emerging diseases.

• It will also work to develop a three-year work plan to strengthen capacity, data management training, research exchanges, among others.

Cabinet approved the establishment of the National Land Monetization Corporation
• Union Cabinet approved the establishment of a National Monetary Fund to make more money on land.

• NLMC will be a wholly-owned state-owned company with an initial share capital of Rs. 5,000 crores and a paid budget of Rs. 150 crores.

• It will make money from the remaining land and build the assets of Central Public Sector Companies and other organs of state.

• The NLMC is also expected to own, hold, manage and monetize the remaining land and CPSE building materials during the closing period.

FIH Men’s Hockey pro league matches between India and Germany have been postponed
• The FIH Men’s Hockey Pro League draw between India and Germany has been postponed due to the high number of COVID cases involving the German team.

• The games were scheduled to be played on March 12 and 13, 2022, in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. As an official release, the International Hockey Federation, India and Germany are already working together to find another date.

• The women’s match between India and Germany will be played as scheduled for March 12-13 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.
