I did intense research and wrote “The Voice of Dissent in the Last Court of Last Resort”: Justice Rohinton Nariman

Posted on August 14, 2021August 14, 2021 By Ayush No Comments on I did intense research and wrote “The Voice of Dissent in the Last Court of Last Resort”: Justice Rohinton Nariman

Justice Rohinton Nariman who retired as Supreme Court judge on Thursday has authored a book Discordant Notes, Volume 1: The Voice of Dissent in the Last Court of Last Resort.
Interestingly, he told that the first six weeks of COVID induced lockdown was when he got time to address the book since the Supreme Court had just rearranged to the virtual style of functioning and only a limited number of Benches were convening to hear cases.

“In the first 6 weeks of the pandemic, we were incarcerated with nothing to do. I did intense research, and I wrote this book,” he said.

He was talking at a farewell function organised for him by the Bombay Bar Association.

He also stated that the basis of the book was his speech at the Justice KT Desai Memorial Lecture in which he had spoken about the “four dissenters of Supreme Court”.
