India at Tokyo Olympics 2020, July 29 Highlights: India’s Day 7 at Tokyo Olympics 2020 has done a memorable one with lead players like PV Sindhu, Manu Bhaker, Atanu Das and Satish Kumar in performance. Mary Kom will also meet Colombia’s Ingrit Valencia Victoria in Women’s flyweight round-of-16 later today.

PV Sindhu roared into the quarterfinals of the women’s event after winning against Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt in the Round of 16 matches. The Indian men’s hockey team also beat defending Olympic Champions Argentina by 3-1, maintaining their place in the Hockey quarterfinals.

Archer Atanu Das also travelled into pre-quarterfinals after beautiful Olympics gold medallist, South Korea’s Jinhyek Oh in a nail-biting ending. India boxer Satish Kumar was also introduced into the quarterfinals of the men’s super heavyweight (+95kg) category after winning against Ricardo Brown of Jamaica in the Round of 16.

Notwithstanding missing the medal, the Indian Rowing pair of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh too put up a magnificent achievement by completing fifth in the Final B of lightweight Men’s Double Sculls.
