A large asteroid will fly through Earth really so closely on August 21, 2021, announced Earthsky. It will not hit Earth.
The asteroid, named 2016 AJ193, is reportedly is speeding inward towards the sun in its 5.91-year orbit. Earth is in its almost path but it will not hit the planet.
The asteroid will pass the Earth some 8.9 lunar ranges away. It will be at its closest on August 21st.
Can the asteroid hit the Earth?
Negative thought, asteroid 2016 AJ193 will not hit Earth as indeed at its closest way, it will be some 8.9 times the moon’s distance from the planet. The distance is a reliable one but nearly close enough for a huge space rock.
Can the asteroid be seen with the naked eye?
well, it won’t be noticeable to the naked eye but it will be close enough for astronomers to be able to recognise it and analyse it. Even inexperienced astronomers provided with telescopes will be ready to see the asteroid and record it.
