Liverpool removed from UNESCO world heritage list: UNESCO

Posted on July 22, 2021July 22, 2021 By Ayush No Comments on Liverpool removed from UNESCO world heritage list: UNESCO

On July 21, 2021, a voting system took place in UNESCO, in which UNESCO  voted that to remove Liverpool from its list of world heritage sites. This was the 3rd site that has been removed from the prestigious list. World Heritage Committee Chairman Tian Xuejun stated that the site has been deleted from the NESCO world heritage list. This is the third removal, previous being sites in Oman and Germany.  The site has been removed due to the new building that is being planned in the city, which as per the committee will undermine the Victorian heritage of the site.
