India and Asia’s first National Dolphin Research Centre (NDRC) decided to set up the centre at the banks of the River Ganges in the Patna University campus, Bihar. According to the survey conducted in 2018-19, almost 1,455 dolphins were observed in the river Ganga.
The Deputy CM of the state asserted that the Government of Bihar is operating this project much quicker in accordance to building the centre in Patna University, Bihar.
He added stating that a 7 km long range between Sultanganj and Kahalgao in Bhagalpur district has been regarded as Vikram Sheela Gangetic dolphin sanctuary.
