Raja Mircha, also identified as Naga King Chilli, was shipped to London from Nagaland. This is the primary time Raja Mirch is being exported from the state of Nagaland that too when the Covid-19 pandemic forward with a drought-like situation in Nagaland. In the year 2008 Raja Mircha obtained Geographical Indication certification. Raja Mirch is amongst the top five hottest chillies in the world based on Scoville Heat Units.
It has a distinguished flavour as well as an aroma.
Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) have come collectively to regulate the export which has been sourced from the Peren district of Nagaland.
