The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) invites Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for the post of Civil Judge under the Department of Home, Himachal Pradesh. Eligible candidates will be selected through the H.P. Judicial Service Competitive Examination-2024.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship: Indian.
- Educational Qualification: Degree in Law recognized by the Bar Council of India (as of January 5, 2025).
- Age: 22–35 years as of January 5, 2025 (relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST/OBC categories).
Desirable Qualification:
- Knowledge of the customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for work in local conditions.

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
Date: March 2, 2025
- Subjects:
- Civil Law-I: Code of Civil Procedure, Indian Evidence Act, Indian Stamp Act, Himachal Pradesh Courts Act, 1976, and Specific Relief Act.
- Civil Law-II: Indian Contract Act, Hindu Law, Indian Limitation Act, Transfer of Property Act, and Himachal Pradesh Urban Rent Control Act.
- Criminal Law: Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Negotiable Instruments Act (Sections 138–143), H.P. Excise Act-2011, Wild Life Protection Act, Indian Forest Act, and judicial sensitivity to sexual offences (special topics listed under Main Exam syllabus).
Note: Each paper will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions, two marks each, with no negative marking.

- Law degree certificate and mark sheets.
- Himachal Bonafide and caste certificates (if applicable).
- Character certificates from two individuals.
