Authorship and Contributorship

Legalonus Journal adheres to the highest ethical standards in publishing. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all listed authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission.

2. Handling Complaints and Appeals

We are committed to addressing complaints and appeals promptly and transparently. Complaints regarding editorial decisions, processes, or ethical concerns should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief at complaints@legalonus.com.

Each complaint will be reviewed in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, and appropriate actions will be taken to resolve the issue.


3. Allegations of Research Misconduct

Legalonus Journal takes allegations of research misconduct seriously. Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, and plagiarism. Upon receiving an allegation, the editorial team will conduct a thorough investigation following COPE guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions, such as retraction or correction of the published work, will be taken.

4. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. All disclosures should be included in a statement at the end of the manuscript. Editors and reviewers are also required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process if a conflict exists.

5. Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Legalonus Journal is committed to promoting transparency and reproducibility in research. As part of this commitment, we provide open access to published research data, ensuring that readers can freely access and verify the findings. However, access is strictly limited to reading only, and no authorization is granted for republication, reproduction, modification, distribution, or commercial use of the data without prior written permission from the journal and the original authors.

Key Policies on Data Sharing:

  • Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript, specifying whether the data is publicly available and providing links to any relevant repositories.
  • Authors are encouraged to deposit their datasets in recognized open-access repositories to enhance accessibility and reproducibility.
  • Any sensitive or confidential data should be shared only in accordance with applicable ethical and legal regulations, including obtaining necessary participant consent.
  • If data cannot be shared due to privacy concerns, intellectual property rights, or ethical restrictions, authors must provide a clear justification.

6. Ethical Oversight

Legalonus Journal is committed to upholding ethical standards in all aspects of research and publication. 7. Intellectual Property

Authors retain the copyright of their work but grant Legalonus Journal the right to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in all forms and media. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work does not infringe upon any existing copyrights or intellectual property rights. Any use of third-party material must be appropriately credited and accompanied by written permission where necessary.

8. Post-Publication Discussions

We welcome post-publication discussions and critiques of published articles. Readers may submit comments or letters to the editor, which will be considered for publication. Authors of the original work will have the opportunity to respond to any critiques. This process aims to foster academic dialogue and ensure the integrity of the scientific record.

9. Corrections and Retractions

If errors are identified in published articles, authors should promptly notify the editorial office. Corrections will be made in the form of an erratum or corrigendum, depending on the nature of the error. In cases of serious errors or misconduct, the article may be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines. All corrections and retractions will be clearly linked to the original article and will be freely accessible.

10. Peer Review Policy – Legalonus Law Journal (LLJ)

Overview
Legalonus Law Journal (LLJ) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly excellence. To ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of published research, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process before acceptance.

2. Peer Review Process

  • Initial Screening: All submissions are first reviewed by the publisher, and then by editorial team to assess compliance with journal guidelines, originality, relevance, and ethical standards. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
  • Double-Blind Review: Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers/ senior editors who are experts in the relevant field. Both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.
  • Reviewer Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
    • Originality and contribution to legal scholarship
    • Clarity, coherence, and logical argumentation
    • Research methodology and legal reasoning
    • Compliance with ethical standards
    • Proper citation and referencing of legal sources
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team may decide to:
    • Accept the manuscript without changes
    • Accept with minor or major revisions
    • Request resubmission after substantial revision
    • Reject the manuscript due to quality, relevance, or ethical concerns
  • Revisions & Author Response: If revisions are required, authors must submit a revised version along with a point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments. The revised submission may be subject to further review.

3. Confidentiality & Ethical Standards

  • All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and must not use the content for personal or professional advantage.
  • LLJ adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for ethical publishing and handling potential conflicts of interest.

4. Appeals & Complaints
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a detailed justification. Appeals will be reviewed by an independent member of the editorial board. Complaints regarding the review process should be directed to journal@legalonus.com.


11. Publication Charges

To support the editorial, review, and publishing process, Legalonus website and Legalonus Law Journal (LLJ) charges the following fees:

  • INR 300 for website publication
  • INR 600 for journal publication

These charges are subject to change at the discretion of the publisher. Any updates regarding fees will be communicated via the official website.
